Next is Lucie Madison Hodges. She was born on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005 weighing in at 8 lbs, 7 oz and was 19.5 inches long. With Lucie, even though I loved my homebirth and am scared to death of germ infested hospitals, I decided to give the hospital a try. I had several false alarms and finally, when she was 10 days late, they told me to come in and they'd induce. Thinking back, I wish I'd never done it... it was a horrible labor experience. It wasn't nearly as long as Philip's birth (about 12 hours), but was more than twice as painful. BUT, she was born at 9:24 pm, perfectly healthy! She is now four years old, and weighs about 29 lbs, and is a very sweet little drama queen. If she is sweet, she's like honey. If she's upset, it can get scary. :-) But she is a very good big sister and a sweet helper, most of the time.

The first time I was able to get her hair (the little that she had!) up and have it stay! She was a little over two.
